Shrubs have various uses in landscaping design including providing privacy, controlling soil erosion, aesthetic appeal and blocking wind. Smaller than trees, with bushy hard stems, shrubs may bear flowers or berries, which help to attract pollinators or native birds to your garden. Choose from deciduous or evergreen varieties depending on your requirements.
The team at Naturescreation are experienced plant suppliers who carefully grow a range of niche plants in optimum conditions to suit your landscaping demands. The versatile range we offer includes stunning hydrangea plants, camellias, several varieties of buxus shrubs suitable for topiary.

Strategic planting for entryways, corners, and foundation coverage
Entryway planting is an important part of landscaping as it serves as a focal point to the property or front door, adding a sense of warmth and welcome. We have a range of shrubs that are ideal for entryway planting. Placing shrubs at the corners of your house is equally important, as they visually frame your home. Positioning shrubs or small trees at a distance ensures they don't obscure the house and block light or sunshine as they mature. If your house has obvious foundations (less likely with modern builds), you can use shrubs and plants to hide or soften anything you don't want seen. Ask us for more information about strategic planting on your property.
Naturescreation's tips on how to get the best out of your hydrangea plants
Hydrangea plants are no longer considered an old-fashioned plant. Gardeners are again falling in love with the attractive foliage and fluffy blooms. Suited to shaded garden areas, our hydrangea plants can make a statement in any outdoor space. Here, the nursery team offers tips on how to achieve the best results.
Plant:Plant in moist, rich, well-drained soil.
Position: Plant in partial shade or dappled light under trees for the best results.
Flowering: Hydrangeas flower from November to February. It pays to deadhead them once blooms are spent to ensure more robust, healthier plants.
Feeding: Hydrangeas are gross feeders, so require fertilising annually, including mulch with compost or manure.
Watering: Hydrangea plants require good moisture levels, especially during the summer when the plants bloom.
Pruning:Pruning is essential to achieve the best blooms as these plants develop flowers on the previous year’s new growth. Be sure to remove weak or spindly growth.
Colour:To change the pH of your hydrangea and alter its bloom colour, use aluminium sulphate for a lower pH (more acidic, leading to blue blooms) or garden lime for a higher pH (more alkaline, resulting in pink blooms).
